Public Notice to Boil Water

In Effect Wednesday, January 21, 2026 7:00PM

Due to a water main line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system Faulkey Gully MUD (PWS#1011602) notify customers of the need to boil their water.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Compliance at (281) 367-5511.

Faulkey Gully MUD Trail and Sidewalk Partnerships

Hike and Bike Trail Initiative

Faulkey Gully Municipal Utility District (MUD) (the “District”) has formed a collaborative partnership with Harris County and Malcomson Road Utility District (MRUD) for the construction of a Hike and Bike Trail. This trail will extend from Spring Cypress Road to Guernsey Road, providing residents with enhanced recreational opportunities and improved connectivity throughout the community.

Project Funding Structure

To support the construction of the Hike and Bike Trail, both the District and MRUD have agreed to contribute $800,000 each, resulting in a combined investment of $1,600,000 total. Harris County has committed to covering the remaining costs necessary to complete the project, ensuring adequate resources for its successful completion.

Beautification Fee and Community Support

As part of the overall funding strategy, Faulkey Gully MUD introduced a voluntary $5 Beautification Fee, added to residents’ monthly bills. This initiative was designed to encourage community involvement and help the District achieve its initial funding goal for the Hike and Bike Trail project.

Grant Road Sidewalk Partnership

With the Hike and Bike Trail funding goal met, the District is now working with Harris County on a new sidewalk partnership along Grant Road. The Faulkey Gully MUD Board of Directors has expressed their intention to maintain the Voluntary Beautification Fee. The funds generated will support the Grant Road Sidewalk Partnership and future sidewalk initiatives currently under discussion, further contributing to the District’s ongoing commitment to community improvement and accessibility.
